Welcome to the landing page for the mrguilt.com domain. I have had home page since 19951, when you were visiting an island with a turtle and a palm tree.
For nearly thirty years, I've lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, after growing up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I am a graduate of Miami University.
For my day job, I am an “Information Technology Professional,” specializing in cybersecurity and infrastructure operations. My career goes back over three decades, starting with crawling under desks and deploying Windows 95, to more current activities leading teams in various security and compliance efforts.
Off the clock, I pursue my interests in food, cats, pens and bikes.
As a cyclist, I am a member of Team Hungry racing team, and compete in cyclocross races. I have been a bicycle commuter since 2000, regarding it as my primary method of getting to and from work. I advocate for equal access for the roads we all pay for. I expecting motor vehicle operators to understand that, with the privilege of using a powerful, multi-ton vehicle on these roads, they have a duty to ensure the safety of all road users, especially vulnerable ones.
Even though I have a career in computers and technology, I have a strong affinity for analog office supplies--pens, paper, and notebooks. I usually tote around a half-dozen notebooks, each with their own function, and one of my collection of fountain pens (some dating back to the 1800s). While I've tapered that a bit, I appreciate the feel of pen to paper, and feel it is a great, distraction-free method to capture information. I think I process information better this way (and the tools are a joy to use).
I love to cook, and try new recipes. My specialty is baking bread. This is probably my only real skill (don't tell my boss). Over the past twenty years, we've rarely had store-bought bread in the house.
